ADA Traffic Control is happy to announce we are searching for a Field Supervisor for New York. ADA Traffic Control, LTD is a family owned and operated business throughout New England. ADA is the leading traffic control company providing traffic control personnel for construction and utility work zones throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and New York. We also have a very busy Sales and Rentals business and a Security division. ADA is a rapidly growing business and is an exciting and rewarding company to work for. The primary function of a Field Supervisor is to assist current Field Supervisors in providing supervision of Crew Leaders, Crew Members, Traffic Coordinators, road trainers, and Laborers. This job will mainly be on the road each day routinely visiting construction and utility job sites throughout the designated state. The Field Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager of ADA but works hand in hand with other Management positions and our dispatch team daily. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with overseeing employees to insure they are performing their duties in compliance with the rules and regulations set forth in the Employee Manual, Safety Manual, Dept of Transportation, and OSHA Standards. Immediately correct employees whom you observe performing their duties incorrectly or unsafe by demonstrating correct methods. Check on all jobs and employees within designated area continuously and no less then each job contacts 1x per week Must have the keen sense to observe an unsafe situation and with guidance from a Field Supervisor, mitigate the issue immediately before an employee is put in danger. Filing reports using electronic means such as tablet or laptop Maintain a professional demeanor when addressing all fellow employees and contractors In the absence of employees, it is required the Assistant Field Supervisor fill in when needed including but not limited to flagging, laboring, driving trucks, etc. Collect and Deliver Equipment to job sites and personnel. Attend regular meetings and trainings. Must be willing to accept seasonal layoff if it's required. Required Skills:To be successful, the Assistant Supervisor must have excellent interpersonal skills Must be able to work in and remain calm in work zones and fast moving traffic Excellent conflict resolution skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity at all times Required to drive for long periods Ability to tow a trailer or learn how Computer and internet skills Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a fast- paced environment. Must be available to meet with second and third shift employees, as needed, some nights, weekends, and overnights at hotels will be required Must have a valid driver license Must have ability to acquire DOT physical and Med card Experience/Other: Minimum six (6) months of traffic control and/or road work zone experience required OSHA 10, 30, 40 certifications preferred.
