Job Description

At Cadence, we hire and develop leaders and innovators who want to make an impact on the world of technology. Job Duties: Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and semiconductor intellectual property (IP) employing knowledge of electronic theory and materials properties. Responsible for central processing unit intellectual property (CPU IP) selection, configuration, integration for Advanced RISC Machine (ARM) and/or reduced instruction set computer (RISC-V) CPU and System IP. Design IP selection, configuration, and integration for Memory and/or Interface IP (PCIe, Ethernet, USB and other). Create and own digital design and IP from High Level Arch Specification. Create detailed micro-architecture specification and work closely with the architect. Understand performance measurement and refinement. Work with verification and validation teams to create performance verification plans. Support verification teams, develop test bench, review verification and vPlans. Provide timely specification clarifications and debug support. Create functional timing constraints, synthesize register-transfer level (RTL) to ensure power and area targets are met and constraints are correct. Plan development schedule in detail and track deliverables to ensure timely IP delivery to all consumers. Work with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure design block/IP success for all target specifications in Silicon. Some telecommuting permitted. Qualifications: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field Minimum two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related engineering occupation. Digital Logic Design, including Boolean algebra, logic gates, sequential and combinational circuits, and finite state machines Computer Architecture, including CPU organization, memory hierarchy, and interrupt handling Verilog programming language for designing and verifying digital logic at the Register Transfer Level (RTL) Understanding of microprocessors from Intel or ARM Use EDA tools and applications such as Cadence/Synopsys Register Transfer Level (RTL) compiler, synthesis, lint, Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) and Reset Domain Crossing (RDC) tools to execute the architecture and design of an individual block according to the design protocol provided Programming language such as C to write low level firmware for the processors used in Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) and System On Chip (SOC) Utilizing scripting language such as Python, Perl, or Shell to use with various EDA tools We're doing work that matters.
