Job Description Join Our Team as a Histotechnologist - Elevate Patient Care Through Precision and Expertise Are you a dedicated Histotechnologist passionate about advancing healthcare through expertly prepared tissue samples? We are seeking a skilled professional to join our dynamic pathology department, delivering critical support in tissue processing, slide preparation, and diagnostic accuracy. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing directly to patient diagnoses and treatment plans, while enjoying a competitive hourly pay rate of $41.00. As a crucial member of our histology team, you will handle specimen receipt, accessioning, tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and slide staining within the 11 PM - 7:30 AM shift. Your exceptional attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards will ensure the integrity of diagnostic results. This position is perfect for experienced histotechnologists committed to precision and reliability in their work. Required Skills: Minimum of 2 years of specialized experience in histology or a related field ASCP certification preferred Proficiency in tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and slide staining Familiarity with Cerner or similar LIS systems Strong understanding of safety protocols and quality control standards Nice to Have Skills: Experience with pathology, cytology, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) Ability to handle a high-volume specimen workload Strong organizational and communication skills Bilingual capabilities are a plus Preferred Education and Experience: AS degree or higher in Histotechnology or a related healthcare discipline Prior experience working in a hospital or immunopathology lab environment Other Requirements: No local candidates within 50 miles; this role requires 13 weeks of night shift work Must work two major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) and one minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve) Reliable transportation and ability to adapt to holiday schedules Certifications or licenses as applicable; reimbursement for travel and licensure expenses when applicable We invite motivated, detail-oriented candidates ready to contribute to life-changing diagnostics to apply now.
