We’re looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for Platform Development to join our Machine Learning Platform team. This team is responsible for creating foundational components for ML feature engineering and models training/serving at Coinbase. Your work will combat fraud, personalize user experiences, and analyze blockchains. You will leverage your engineering expertise in building scalable ML solutions, including stream processing, distributed training, and highly available online services. Key Responsibilities: Understand the needs of our Machine Learning Engineers and identify the current capabilities and gaps. Mentor junior engineers in building high-quality software and enhancing their skills. Enhance our engineering standards to maintain high availability and low latency for ML inference infrastructure, including predictive models and LLMs. Optimize low-latency streaming pipelines to ensure our ML models access the freshest, highest-quality data. Promote best practices for developing high-performance distributed training jobs for processing large datasets. Create tools to monitor the quality of data entering our models and detect any performance degradation impacting our models. What We Seek: 5+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer. Strong understanding of distributed systems. Lead by example with high-quality code and effective communication skills. Possess a strong design sense and the ability to clarify complex technical requirements. Treat other engineers as customers, with a dedicated focus on delivering a seamless experience. Demonstrate mastery of fundamentals, enabling you to transition across various technologies seamlessly. Preferred Qualifications: Experience building machine learning models and working with ML systems. Experience on a platform team and developing developer tools. Familiarity with technologies such as Python, Golang, Ray, Tecton, Spark, Airflow, Databricks, Snowflake, and DynamoDB. Job ID: P75027 Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position ranges from $186,065 to $225,000 USD. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity options, and comprehensive benefits like medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
