Indiana University Health Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Registered Radiology Assistant (RRA) to join our growing Radiology team. This advanced clinical role supports radiologists in delivering high-quality diagnostic and interventional imaging services while ensuring exceptional patient care, safety and communication. The ideal candidate is clinically confident, patient-centered, and comfortable performing a wide range of image-guided procedures under radiologist supervision. Job Duties Perform advanced imaging procedures under the direction of a supervising radiologist, including: Gastrointestinal fluoroscopic procedures (UGI, SBFT, esophagrams, contrast enemas, feeding tube placements/checks) Thoracentesis Paracentesis Joint injections and aspirations Lumbar punctures Image-guided biopsies (as credentialed) Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform focused physical assessments relevant to the planned procedure. Prepare patients for procedures, explain processes, and ensure informed consent is completed appropriately. Assist radiologists with workflow optimization, protocol adherence, and clinical decision support. Interpret preliminary imaging findings and communicate observations to supervising radiologists. Document procedures, patient interactions, and clinical impressions in the electronic medical record. Promote patient safety by following all IU Health policies, radiation safety standards, and infection-control practices. Collaborate with technologists, nurses and other clinical staff to ensure efficient, patient-centered care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and departmental meetings. Qualifications Completion of accredited Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA) or Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA) program.
