Job Description Our client, a global manufacturer located just north of Grand Rapids in the Grant, MI area, is looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior level Tooling Engineer focused on plastic injection molding to join their team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of new tooling as well as the improvement of existing tooling processes. You will work closely with internal and external teams, ensuring tooling meets customer needs, project timelines, and cost targets. If you're passionate about engineering, tooling design, and manufacturing processes, this is a great opportunity to make a significant impact. Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and manage technical work related to new and existing tooling, including responding to business unit requests. Design, develop, and modify prototype and production tooling to meet program requirements. Participate in design reviews, lead tooling design reviews, and make recommendations to improve tooling design and standards. Ensure product design meets manufacturing requirements and customer specifications. Maintain documentation for all projects, including accurate records of tooling activities, costs, and timelines. Manage project timelines, costs, and tool build objectives, ensuring timely delivery while adjusting costs as necessary. Collaborate with internal teams to purchase tooling and outsource tool builds, maintaining communication with suppliers. Monitor tooling suppliers and evaluate their performance after project completion. Provide regular updates to business units on project status and assist with various projects as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field 5+yrs of experience with tooling in a plastic injection molding environment Proficiency in using technical tools and standard office software for project management, budgeting, and report creation.
