Gluer Operator Lead - 2nd ShiftLocation: Sheboygan, WI On-site Overview: A well-established manufacturer in the printing/packaging industry is seeking an experienced Lead Gluer Operator to join their Finishing Department. This is a hands-on working lead role for an experienced folding carton professional who wants more responsibility, influence, and stability-without giving up time on the machines. You'll play a key role in daily production while helping guide the crew, support quality standards, and drive continuous improvement.Shift: Monday - Thursday | 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM Consistent schedule with three-day weekends every week Compensation & Benefits: $28.25 to $29.75 per hour $1.50 shift premium Comprehensive benefits package Key Responsibilities and Goals: Operate, set up, and maintain finishing equipment including Domino 110, Visionfold, Cartonpack models, Batch Inverter, and HHS gluing systems. Lead by example: run equipment while supporting the supervisor with production, safety, and quality targets. Review job tickets to ensure proper scheduling, process flow, and customer specifications are met. Train, coach, and mentor operators, assistants, and inspectors to promote skill development and operational excellence. Maintain accurate machine maintenance logs and coordinate timely repairs within OEM specifications. Perform first-article quality approvals and support QA procedures to ensure product specifications are achieved. Competencies Needed for Success: Minimum 5 years of experience in folding carton finishing operations or related manufacturing disciplines. Proven ability to operate and troubleshoot gluer and finishing equipment. Strong leadership, team-building, and coaching skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read factory tickets, follow detailed instructions, and perform basic math calculations. Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 40 pounds in a manufacturing environment with loud noise levels.
