PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES As a Manager of Engineering and Facilities, you will embody Ulta Beauty's mission and values through a variety of responsibilities: Act as the Distribution Center's primary troubleshooting expert and technical resource during equipment issues, coordinating efforts to minimize downtime. Maintain in-depth expertise in existing Ulta material handling systems and technology, including conveyors, sortation systems, and specialized equipment. Evaluate and enhance systems to ensure optimal performance, working closely with operational and technical experts. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Ulta’s electronic equipment, including labeling technology and scanning devices. Oversee facilities maintenance services within budget while meeting all contracted KPIs, ensuring high performance from your team. Manage relationships and budgets for all maintenance vendors. Communicate regularly with Operations Managers about ongoing maintenance activities and project updates. Work with key suppliers to secure timely and budget-compliant parts and services. Monitor key performance indicators, including repair and response times, and budgetary compliance. Ensure compliance with health and safety policies to maintain a safe workplace. Foster the development of technical and non-technical team members. Lead and manage non-exempt teams to deliver departmental goals. Conduct inspections of company equipment and manage all site maintenance activities through approved vendors. Implement corrective action plans to address service shortfalls. Assist in recruiting for vacancies in your operational team. Provide out-of-hours emergency cover for facilities as needed. Process Ensure compliance with company standards while improving operational efficiency: Maintain knowledge of and ensure adherence to Ulta Beauty policies and procedures. Develop strategies to enhance productivity and operational efficiency. Effectively communicate changes and adaptations to operational processes. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness across all operational areas. Protect company assets by adhering to loss prevention practices. Maximize operational efficiencies and cost-effectiveness while ensuring safe practices. Establish project priorities and oversee execution for critical initiatives. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Advocate for process and technology enhancements to improve performance. Continuously evolve team practices by integrating industry best practices. Participate in defining project goals and deliverables as needed. Execute other responsibilities as directed. Education Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with control's emphasis, or equivalent work experience required. Experience Experience with motion control and material handling systems, systems integration, and maintenance is essential. Minimum 3 years of engineering experience focusing on PLC/PC industrial control systems and related networks. Experience with SCADA HMIs is highly desired. Skills Key skills include strong leadership, excellent communication, customer relations, budget development, and project management. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while driving accountability within teams is crucial. Proficiency in MS Office and Warehouse Management Systems is required. SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS Flexibility in work schedule and willingness to work additional hours or travel as necessary is required. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is conducted in a distribution center environment, with exposure to loud noises, variable temperatures, dust, and strong scents related to cosmetics. The pay range for this position is $84,600.00 - $105,900.00 per year, with the opportunity for bonuses. Exact compensation will reflect relevant education, qualifications, experience, and business needs. Full-time positions offer paid time off and health benefits. Part-time positions receive limited benefits.
