Membership in a professional occupational therapy organization is preferred. Must-Have: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree if graduated before 1/1/2002. Master's degree required if graduated after 1/1/2002. International candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy. Must be able to lift 50 pounds; 100 pounds shared lifting. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be willing to work at other locations as assigned. Description: Provides professional patient care and practices occupational therapy by evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting treatment. Assesses, plans, and carries out programs of purposeful activity designed to assist in the rehabilitation of medically necessary patients as prescribed by the physician. Bases selection of activities on physician's prescription, history, evaluation findings, experience, and interests of the patient. Plans and directs special diversional or educational events for patients. Instructs and collaborates with occupational therapy assistants regarding treatment procedures to be utilized. Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants in carrying out an occupational therapy program or selected parts of it. Completes all documentation in a timely and acceptable manner. All care is provided in accordance with the philosophy and essential functions of the rehabilitation department and applicable regulatory standards.
