OverviewCHENEGA RELIABLE SERVICES, LLCThe Animal Research Protocol Coordinator shall support Government directors, PIs, in the planning, programming, and execution of clinical research projects and protocols and associated activities. ResponsibilitiesMaintains study records in accordance with protocols and study schedules. Assists with protocol writing, submission to the IACUC, study source document preparation and study execution, for animal research studies. Coordinates one (1) to several simultaneous projects for the PI/director; confers with investigator on experimental design; provides instruction on various research laboratory techniques, and study participant contact procedures. Organizes research information; manages reporting and data collection and assists with abstract/poster/manuscript preparation. Assists with budget preparation for project execution and monitors research study budget. Researches equipment/supply catalogs, and recommend purchase requests for projects/protocols in accordance with the IACUC Documents all regulatory research and administrative actions to ensure study compliance. Prepares/delivers required reports and other research documentation to PI. Prepares correspondence, builds study files, develops schedules, and presents graphics to support the research study. May require occasional weekend and evening hours. Responsible for all Occupational Health assessments, examinations, vaccinations, and changes in health status if it changes the ability to perform the contracted work requirements. Other duties as assigned QualificationsB.S in Biological Sciences or a closely related field Masters Degree Preferred. Minimum of two (2) years' experience in clinical research Possess and maintain an American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) training and remain current. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate competence in oral and written communication. Possess organizational, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor. Possess computer skills including intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software. Ability to communicate regularly with all Departmental Supervisors to schedule and coordinate all study related activities. Ability to QC study source documents and large databases Ability to use available software systems, specifically the current accounts tracking systems, publication submissions, purchase orders, credit card purchases, and preparation of forms for incoming and out coming funds Possess skills for the animal lab including Swan Ganz catheter insertion, appropriate application of NIRS, vital sign interpretation, administration of treatments via infusion pumps or standard pressure bags, via IV catheters or central lines. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
