(QPS) is seeking a skilled and dependable Journeyman Electrician to support commercial and industrial electrical construction projects in the Jacksonville, FL area. In this role, you will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and control systems while ensuring all work meets NEC and local code requirements. This position requires strong technical expertise, the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision, and the leadership skills to guide apprentices and helpers in the field. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Installation & Repair: Install and repair conduit systems, circuit breakers, transformers, lighting systems, and power distribution equipment in commercial and industrial environments. Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical malfunctions using appropriate testing devices and implement safe, effective repairs. Code Compliance: Ensure all electrical work adheres to the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building regulations, and plant standards. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to plan layouts and installations. Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to prevent downtime and ensure reliability. Safety & Leadership: Follow OSHA safety standards and QPS safety protocols, properly utilize PPE, and mentor apprentices and helpers on job sites. Travel: Perform local travel within Florida and along the east coast of Georgia for short-term project assignments as needed. Qualifications Valid Journeyman Electrician license preferred (not required). Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program preferred (not required). Several years of experience in commercial and industrial electrical construction. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, conduit bending, wire pulling, and blueprint reading. Familiarity with NEC and OSHA standards. OSHA 10-hour certification. High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Ability to work independently and supervise apprentices when required. A professional review will be completed as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment. Capable of climbing, standing for extended periods, and working in trenching, high elevations, confined spaces, and outdoor environments. Comfortable working around high-voltage systems in commercial and industrial settings. Frequent travel between job sites within the assigned region.
