Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and skilled nursing care as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a float pool role with full-time A-shifts. This position offers the opportunity to deliver direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process and demonstrating clinical competence aligned with professional nursing standards. Key Responsibilities Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment. Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide patient and family education within the scope of practical nursing practice. Conduct ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and support clinical decision-making. Collaborate closely with supervising RNs or shift managers to ensure comprehensive patient care. Document all care activities and quality monitoring data to comply with healthcare standards. Communicate effectively with physicians, healthcare team members, patients, and families to improve outcomes and patient experience. Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability. Engage in continuous learning to develop nursing skills and critical thinking. Education Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program is required. Experience One year of practical nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory. Licenses and Certifications Current LPN license valid in the state or through compact licensure. Graduate Practical Nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Physical and Mental Requirements This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and stooping. Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases is expected, along with occasional encounters with challenging individuals.
