This role is responsible for achieving production targets while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, efficiency, and employee development. This position requires a hands-on, lead-by-example leader-someone who is willing to be present on the production floor, actively demonstrate best practices, and work directly alongside employees and supervisors to drive consistency, accountability, and success. The Production Manager leads through coaching, visibility, and action-not from behind a desk. Responsibilities • Lead daily production operations to meet volume, cost, waste, and quality targets • Supervise and support multiple production area supervisors and their teams • Lead by example on the production floor, stepping in as needed to demonstrate processes, reinforce standards, and support consistent execution • Work side-by-side with supervisors and hourly employees to identify gaps, coach performance, and drive operational improvements • Coordinate staffing, schedules, and production sequencing to optimize output • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and safety standards (SQF, FSMA, GMP) • Identify process inefficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements • Monitor equipment performance and escalate maintenance or operational concerns • Support onboarding, training, and ongoing development of production staff • Maintain accurate production reporting, metrics, and documentation • Partner with other operational leaders to ensure smooth workflow and communication • Enforce company policies, SOPs, and safety programs consistently Qualifications • 5+ years of supervisory or management experience in manufacturing or production • Hands-on leadership style with a demonstrated ability to work directly alongside teams to drive results • Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes and safety standards • Experience leading supervisors and large hourly teams • Ability to identify root causes and drive practical, floor-level solutions • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred • Hands-on leadership style with a focus on accountability and team development Compensation & Benefits • Quarterly Incentive Program: Bonus tied to company performance with tiered payout potential • Paid Time Off (PTO): Two weeks (10 days) per year • Medical Insurance: Comprehensive medical plan • Dental Insurance: Available at the employee's expense • Life Insurance: One year's gross annual pay (100% company-funded) • Retirement: 401(k) eligibility after one year of service, with company match up to 4% • Company Holidays: Nine paid holidays annually • Long-Term Disability: Company-sponsored coverage for salaried employees
