Shop Helper / Janitorial

Position Overview Shop Helper / General Laborer We're looking for a reliable Shop Helper to support daily work in our steel fabrication shop. This is an entry-level position for someone who's not afraid to work hard, follow directions, and help keep the shop clean, safe, and organized. You'll help around the shop, assist other workers, handle materials, and do regular cleaning of restrooms, breakrooms, and office areas. If you're dependable, willing to learn, and okay doing a mix of shop work and janitorial work, this could be a good fit. This is a safety-sensitive job. Your work affects the safety of yourself and others. What You'll Do Help shop employees with basic tasks and material handling Use basic tools and equipment (training provided) Empty scrap bins and sort material properly Keep shop areas clean and organized Supplies & Inventory Restock PPE and safety supplies Refill shop consumables and janitorial supplies Yard Work Help organize materials and kits in the yard Cleaning Duties Clean and sanitize restrooms every shift Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and wipe down surfaces Clean windows, mirrors, and fixtures Restock paper towels, toilet paper, and soap Keep breakrooms and offices clean and presentable General Help Assist coworkers as needed Help with snow removal when required What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED (preferred) Able to work up Monday-Friday 5am-3:30pm with Saturday's optional Willing to do both shop work and cleaning Able to follow instructions and work with a team Reliable, on time, and ready to work Pays attention to details and works safely Willing to learn new tasks Flexible with hours when needed Physical Requirements Stand, walk, bend, squat, and climb throughout the day Lift and carry up to 50 lbs Use hands for gripping, lifting, pushing, and pulling Work in hot, cold, and outdoor conditions Work in shop, yard, and office areas Bottom Line This job is for someone who: Shows up every day Works hard in all types of weather Helps where needed Takes pride in keeping the shop clean and running right About JGM Do you want to work for a construction company unlike any other?
