DEFINITION: Under supervision, performs work requiring detailed knowledge in a specific clerical field, and performs related work as required. Work Length: 8 hours per dayDays Worked: 260 days per yearEXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Performs a wide variety of clerical tasks requiring independent judgment Interprets and applies rules, regulations, procedures, policies and precedent Researches, prepares and processes reports independently Compiles and records information Establishes and maintains pertinent files and records Composes and types documents Operates standard office equipment, including a computer and related software Verifies documents Advises and assists employees and the public Orders supplies Establishes and maintains appointment schedules DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:Training and Experience: A combination of training and experience equivalent to two years office experience. Knowledge of: Standard office methods, procedures and equipment Correct English usage, spelling and grammar Arithmetic School and departmental policies and procedures Skill in: Performing a variety of clerical tasks in an accurate and timely manner Performing mathematical computations Maintaining office records and files Following written and oral instructions. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships Operating standard office equipment, including a computer and related software Compiling information and preparing simple reports Training others Typing with speed and accuracy Ability to: Learn to operate a computer and related software Learn to interpret and apply rules, policies, procedures and regulations Licenses and Certificates: A valid California driver's license
