Assistant Controller - On-SiteAdvintage Distributing | Beverage Distribution | Full-Time Advintage Distributing is a fast-growing, multi-state beverage distributor and part of the Mitchell Companies family. We're looking for an Assistant Controller who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, strengthening processes, and helping scale a dynamic, inventory-driven business. This is a hands-on role with meaningful exposure to financial reporting, month-end close, audits, and cross-functional partnership - ideal for a strong Accounting professional ready to step into broader leadership responsibility. What You'll Do Support the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations across multiple locations and entities Play a key role in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and GAAP financial reporting Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and complex accounting activity Help maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and accounting processes Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and special financial projects Partner with operations and department leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting Support audits, tax filings, and system improvements Mentor and support members of the accounting team What You'll Need to Be Successful: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred) 4-6+ years of progressive accounting experience (Staff Accountant -> Senior Accountant -> Accounting Manager, etc.) Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail ERP experience required (Encompass or VIP a strong plus) Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or multi-entity environments a plus Why Advintage Growing, stable organization with a strong operational backbone Broad exposure and opportunity to influence accounting processes as the business scales Collaborative culture with visibility to leadership Competitive compensation and benefits Location: Professional office environment and warehouses; position is on-site in Ladson, SC.
