Salary: $44.14 - $88.32 Hourly Location : Oregon City, OR Job Type: Part-Time, Union Job Number: 2425-00191 Division: Arts and Sciences Department: Science Opening Date: 02/27/2025 Grade: 1 Description Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire a Physics Instructor (Part-Time Faculty) position. This is a part-time, union, exempt, term-by-term, and non benefits-eligible position. Minimum/Mandatory Education and Experience Requirements Master's degree in physics or related field, with a minimum of 30 graduate credit hours in the primary subject to be taught. The ability to communicate effectively as a teacher and to operate as an effective member of a team. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility, including the use of step stools in order to retrieve archived materials. Duties may involve moving materials weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis such as papers, files, boxes, equipment, computers, etc., and rarely requires moving materials weighing over 25 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, monitor, projector, calculator, printer, and standard office equipment. Working Conditions Work environment includes classroom, lab, or other setting as appropriate. Typical lab environment with exposure to odors, heat sources, and potentially hazardous chemicals and pathogenic microorganisms. Work location may be subject to minimal chemical exposure. All faculty are asked to complete lab safety training. The noise level in the work area is typical of similar environments with personal interruptions and background noises. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervision of other personnel is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers. Supervision Received Works under the general direction of the Department Chair.
