Position Title: Outdoor Construction Assistant Company Name: Shawver Well Company Inc Pay Range: $18.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience, plus overtime and annual profit-based bonus Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Decorah, IA Industry: Water Well Drilling / Construction Schedule: Monday-Friday | 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM | Overtime Required Job Overview Shawver Well Company Inc is seeking a dependable and motivated Outdoor Construction Assistant to support water well drilling operations throughout the Decorah and Waukon areas. This entry-level role offers hands-on training in drilling, heavy equipment operation, and water well construction. As a Driller Assistant, you will work directly alongside experienced drillers to assist with daily field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Assist with mobilization, setup, and operation of drill rigs and support equipment Support water well drilling and construction activities in the field Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and equipment Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and organization of equipment and job sites Assist with welding, mechanical tasks, and equipment operation as trained Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations at all times Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and customers Report to the Decorah or Waukon shop location each morning before heading to job sites Support overall team productivity and maintain a clean, safe work environment Training & Development Opportunities Shawver Well Company is committed to developing skilled professionals.
