Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to lead and inspire nursing staff in delivering exceptional, safe, and high-quality patient care within a telemetry unit. This leadership role requires a blend of clinical expertise, interpersonal skills, and the ability to foster a positive work environment. The ANM will manage daily operations, support staff development, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations while collaborating closely with the leadership team. Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe, clean, and infection-controlled environment within the unit. Engage with patients and families to uphold service excellence and address concerns promptly. Communicate professionally and effectively, resolving conflicts as they arise. Participate in policy development and promote evidence-based nursing practices. Ensure accountability for quality, operational, financial, and regulatory goals. Advocate for patients and coordinate care across healthcare disciplines. Collaborate with departments to optimize workflow and patient throughput. Assist in recruitment, selection, and retention of nursing personnel. Address ethical healthcare issues and uphold patient rights and preferences. Manage staffing schedules and assignments, ensuring appropriate personnel utilization. Lead or participate in quality improvement projects and attend relevant committees. Evaluate staff performance, provide coaching, and conduct appraisals. Contribute to budget development and monitor productivity standards. Promote a healthy work environment that minimizes illness and injury. Commit to ongoing professional growth and development. Demonstrate knowledge of administrative supervisory roles and responsibilities. Qualifications Minimum five years of registered nursing experience, including at least two years in acute care or a similar setting. At least one year of recent charge nurse or supervisory experience. Strong understanding of nursing scope of practice and individualized care planning. Ability to work independently and collaboratively to find resources and solutions. Competent in assessing nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families. Proficient with computer systems and adaptable to new software. Capable of providing direct patient care. Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with seven years of relevant RN experience may be considered. Licenses and Certifications Current RN licensure in the state of California required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required. National certification in specialty area preferred. Required certifications vary by unit, including but not limited to ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale, ONS chemotherapy & biotherapy provider, and NVCI. Additional Requirements Successful completion of physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment.
