Lead and manage personnel across one or more inpatient units within a healthcare setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of nursing standards. You will advocate for and model safe, high-quality patient care, demonstrated by excellent patient satisfaction, quality metrics, and staff engagement. Key Responsibilities: Oversee department staff scheduling and assist with payroll processes. Conduct patient and staff rounding to ensure quality and safety. Perform verbal and written counseling with staff, collaborating with leadership and human resources as needed. Coordinate and participate in staff interviews and meetings, including patient safety and process improvement teams. Contribute to policy, procedure, and practice standard development. Mentor, develop, and train new staff and students. Maintain compliance with privacy and security regulations related to Protected Health Information (PHI). Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, team members, physicians, and external partners. Hours and shifts may vary, with collaboration alongside directors and attendance at various meetings required. Education and Experience: Completion of all nursing unit certification requirements. Current Registered Nurse licensure in the relevant state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from recognized providers such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Preferred: Graduate of an accredited nursing program, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred. Preferred: At least one year of experience as an RN Charge Nurse. Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in nursing principles and hospital competencies. Effective communication skills. Basic computer and keyboarding skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Physical Requirements: Light work involving occasional exertion up to 25 lbs and frequent exertion up to 10 lbs.
