Description Summary: The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is actively seeking a full-time faculty gastroenterologist to support Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital in Lebanon, TN and Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. The position is intended for a candidate who is board certified/eligible in gastroenterology and who has completed additional subspecialty training in interventional endoscopy. Job Description: The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is actively seeking a full-time faculty gastroenterologist to support Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital (VWCH) in Lebanon, TN and Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Clinic and endoscopy coverage is expected primarily at VWCH, with some coverage at the main campus of Vanderbilt University Medical Center located in Nashville, TN. The position is intended for a candidate who is board certified/eligible in gastroenterology and who has completed additional subspecialty interventional endoscopy training. Our interventional endoscopy program performs in excess of 800 ERCP and 1000 EUS annually in support of the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center, Vanderbilt Liver Transplant Program, Vanderbilt Surgical Services and other internal and external referral sources. The gastroenterology and surgery groups at Vanderbilt Health are very collegial and exceptionally supportive of one another. The goals of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition are to provide outstanding medical care to persons with diseases of the liver and gastrointestinal tract, to train gastroenterology, advanced endoscopy, and liver transplant fellows, and to perform cutting-edge biomedical research to improve our understanding of digestive and liver diseases. We have over 60 full time faculty in the division including research and clinical faculty. Position Details: Title: Assistant or Associate Professor Track: Clinical Practice track Clinical Responsibilities: Providing patient care in general gastroenterology clinics at both Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital Shared coverage of the inpatient gastroenterology service at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital Performing endoscopies and advanced procedures at both Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital • ERCP skills and willingness to share in inpatient, outpatient and on-call ERCP responsibilities are required Additional skills in POEM, ESD, and/or complex EMR highly desirable Must be committed to training advanced endoscopy fellow in ERCP/EUS Academic Opportunities: Teaching and working with medical students, residents, and gastroenterology fellows. Clinical research is fully supported. The compensation and benefits are very competitive. There will be a faculty appointment at Vanderbilt School of Medicine as part of the job.
