Position Summary: This salaried position is responsible for managing procurement strategy, inventory control, and warehouse operations across multiple mining facilities. This role ensures the timely acquisition of equipment, wear parts, fuel, materials, and operational supplies while maintaining optimal inventory levels to support uptime, safety, and cost efficiency. The ideal candidate understands the urgency of heavy equipment operations and the importance of balancing cost control with operational continuity. Responsibilities: • Actively Promote E.R. Jahna's Core Standards of Safety, People, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SPQDC). • Use the well-established Jahna DDS (Daily Directional Setting) Meetings along with the fundamentals of our SPQDC culture to manage all aspects of the daily business. • Maintain a safe working environment, safe working practices and ensure all safety notification & reporting processes are in place. • Provide coaching, motivation, leadership, and support to personnel to ensure the development of a high-performance team. • Develop action plans and measures to meet and/or exceed budgeted production and cost goals. • Manage personnel issues to include hiring, training, development, morale, and terminations. • Ability to work with all levels of the workforce (Hourly, Plant, Area, and Senior Management) to achieve organizational goals. Promote and develop teamwork within the E.R. Jahna Industries organization. Work ethically, practice good business judgment, and conform to all state and federal laws as well as follow and enforce all of E.R. Jahna's standards and policies. Other duties as assigned or required to meet performance and safety requirements. Key Job Duties: Inventory Control • Establish and maintain accurate inventory levels for critical wear parts, consumables, and site supplies • Identify minimum/maximum stocking thresholds to prevent downtime • Implement cycle counts and periodic full physical inventory audits • Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory and recommend adjustments • Coordinate inventory forecasting with Maintenance and Operations leadership • Utilize ERP systems to track inventory transactions and reporting Warehouse Operations • Oversee daily warehouse operations • Ensure proper organization, labeling, and storage of parts and materials • Develop and enforce standardized receiving, stocking, and issuing procedures • Ensure materials are properly accounted for at the time of receipt • Implement controls to reduce shrinkage and loss • Manage warehouse safety compliance (PPE, stacking procedures, equipment usage) • Coordinate timely transfer of materials between locations as needed Operational Support • Work closely with Mine, Maintenance, and Project Management to ensure production continuity • Support emergency procurement needs to minimize equipment downtime • Improve material flow efficiency between vendors, warehouse, and mine sites Vendor & Supplier Management • Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships • Evaluate delivery timelines and supplier reliability • Source alternative suppliers when necessary to reduce risk • Ensure vendors meet safety, insurance, and regulatory compliance standards Compliance & Administrative Oversight • Approve and manage purchase orders • Ensure proper coding and budget alignment in coordination with Accounting • Maintain documentation for contracts and vendor records • Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on spend, inventory levels, and operational metrics Qualifications & Education Requirements: • 5+ years of procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience • Experience in mining, aggregates, construction materials, heavy equipment, or manufacturing preferred • Strong understanding of warehouse procedures and inventory control systems • ERP system experience (inventory and purchasing modules preferred) • Strong analytical and Excel skills • Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships • Ability to balance cost control with operational urgency • Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving history, and be able to maintain less than 4 points on their driver's license at all times.• Must be organized, dedicated, and possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.• Must convey a positive attitude and be continually focused on satisfying internal company requirements.• Must possess excellent organizational skills, analytical ability, written and verbal communication skills.• Must utilizes a team-based approach to solving problems and making improvements: Must observe and comply with all Safety policies and procedures. Complete safety, health, and task training. (i.e. MSHA Part 46, First Aid, and CPR). Perform other tasks associated with the job. General knowledge of safety, environmental and other federal, state, and local regulations. General knowledge of machinery and equipment mechanics. Complete assigned training as required. Fulfill other jobs as required. Meet/exceed the company safety standards. Ability/willingness to travel overnight to other mine locations in and out of state. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls. The employee is continually required to walk, sit, climb or balance, and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, listen and smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Note: This employee drives a company vehicle. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works outside in adverse weather conditions. The employee frequently works near loud moving mechanical parts, frequently exposed to wet, hot and/or humid conditions, and exposed to vibration. Employees must follow all safety guidelines throughout designated shift. Must wear minimum 6″ steel toe boots, safety vest, eye protection, hard hat and additional PPE as required.
