Position Overview Type of Position: Travel Description: Licensed Practical Nurse - Full Time PositionSchedule Details Must be able to start on a Tuesday or Thursday for full shift orientation Full-time Days and Evenings (scheduled as needed) 5x8 shifts per week (40 hours total) Every other weekend (EOW) required Holiday coverage required Required Qualifications NY LPN Licensure BLS certification (AHA or RQI only) 1 year experience as LPN High School Diploma or GED Position Overview Under the direction of licensed nursing personnel, performs direct and indirect designated resident care within the scope of practice as defined by the certification Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span Must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs Must provide care needed by adult and geriatric patient group Job Functions Resident's ADL's needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within a safe and comfortable environment; including hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, skin care, etc. Documentation completed per protocol Resident's environment and safety to be maintained as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures; including answering call lights and alarms promptly, provision of safety mats and low beds, restraint use under the direction of Nursing, maintaining cleanliness of unit, behavior and fall prevention, appropriate use of and monitoring for malfunctioning equipment, etc. Documentation completed per protocol Resident's nutritional needs will be met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures, including meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, nourishments, etc. Resident's preferences and choices shall be honored. Documentation completed per protocol Resident's rehabilitative (restorative and maintenance) needs are met as outlined in plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures, including range of motion, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment and use of assistive devices. Documentation completed per protocol Resident's rights, refusals, and concerns are reported to Charge and/or Supervising Nurse in a timely fashion in accordance with policies and procedures.
