Vice President, Electrical Engineer - Buildings

Job Description WSP is currently initiating a search for a Vice President, Electrical Engineer for our Tempe, AZ office location. This role will be responsible for the development of new clients and projects in the science and technology sector and leading project teams to deliver those projects and grow those client relationships. We are looking to expand our sector footprint and need an experienced and connected individual who is driven to make and develop client relationships. This candidate will also actively participate in the full project cycle with a focus on complex sector work such as pharmaceutical, life sciences, labs, and industrial manufacturing projects from the design phase through the final construction close-out. Our engineers work on high quality, high-profile, national and international projects with our practice providing design services for over 30 million square feet of science and technology facilities. Resolves conflict and other internal/external issues that may arise in the office, amongst WSP's client base, or on projects. Collaborates with regional, district leaders and other area leaders to strategically drive the business, assess and suggest improvements for project performance, oversee overhead expenditures, and focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Sales, Funding, EBITDA, Staff Hiring and Retention, DSO, Utilization, Backlog, Inclusion & Diversity, and Guiding Principles. Expertise Leverages our broad technical experience to enhance current and new service offerings. Fosters the development of new and emerging innovations to remain the trusted thought leaders in our industry. Advances the region's strategic direction in the location of responsibility for sustained and continued growth consistent within the context of the strategic plan. Encourages, supports, and promotes the technical and professional development of local WSP staff. Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering 12+ years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer. Professional Engineering license required. Extensive knowledge of electrical design, particularly in the science and technology industry. Known in the local community with an extensive network. Proficient with electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues. Experience with electrical planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of renovation, new design, and construction projects. Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of electrical engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations. Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Engineering. LEED AP Certification Previous Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical design experience. At least 5+ years of Project Management experience. 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred. Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired. Compensation Expected Salary (all locations): $147,200 - $218,570 WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
