(Only QUALIFIED Healthcare Professionals accepted) Hospital/Clinic - Revenue Cycling - A Personal Injury (PI) Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) specialist manages the entire financial lifecycle of accident-related medical claims, from initial treatment to final settlement, ensuring payment via insurance, attorney liens, or letters of protection (LOPs). Key duties include specialized billing, lien verification, and high-level negotiations with third parties to reduce accounts receivable (A|R) aged balances. Key Responsibilities and Functions Case Lifecycle Management: Overseeing the financial timeline from the accident date until the final settlement is paid. Specialized Billing & Coding: Accurately billing, tracking, and managing services for personal injury patients (PIPs), often involving complex insurance sources. Lien & LOP Management: Managing medical liens and Letters of Protection (LOPs) to ensure providers are paid directly from the patient's settlement. Third-Party Negotiations: Communicating with insurance adjusters and legal representatives to settle accounts and reduce A|R. Denial Management: Identifying reasons for claim denials, filing appeals, and resubmitting corrections to recover lost revenue. Required Skills and Competencies Expert Knowledge: Understanding of personal injury law, insurance, and medical billing. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for negotiating with attorneys and insurance companies. Attention to Detail: Precision in documentation, coding, and verifying coverage to avoid billing issues. These specialists act as a bridge between healthcare providers and the legal system to ensure consistent cash flow in complex PI cases.
