The School Behavior Analyst (SBA) will provide ongoing support and training to Behavior Technicians and 1:1 behavioral intervention programs for students. In addition, the SBA works together with district and school based teams to plan, develop, and monitor a variety of behavioral support service delivery options to meet the needs of students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges. The SBA also consults with and teaches instructional team members regarding pro-active, educational, programming, and behavioral supports; develops and implements comprehensive treatment plans; and collaborates with team members, related service providers, families, and other agencies as appropriate. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools, to conduct functional assessments and analyses when appropriate, and to develop appropriate behavior strategies to teach appropriate behavior and reduce maladaptive behaviors. Train stakeholders and staff to ensure fidelity in the implementation of treatment plans. Provide training and ongoing support to Behavior Technicians, Teachers, and School Based teams. Direct support professionals, ABA implementers, and other individuals in support roles for families. Provide ongoing training and guidance of paraprofessional staff in implementation of positive behavior intervention plans and strategies. Develop behavior plans/treatment plans with a focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s). Meet as needed with supervised staff to discuss ongoing student issues and to provide support when necessary. Keep current with the literature, new research findings and resources. In addition, continuing education courses to maintain BCBA certification are necessary (32 credits every 2 years). Maintain all data, paperwork, and communication between staff and families, and to provide ongoing feedback to government related agencies that may contract with such families. Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned. OTHER FUNCTIONS Strong communication skills-verbal and written. Work productively to develop positive relationships with individuals, families, and school district staff members. Proven creative abilities, strong organizational and time management skills Maintain a high level of organization for file maintenance, daily, weekly and monthly record keeping. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Master's degree in Special Education or related human services field and ESA Certification Hold a valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). A minimum of three years of recent experience working with individuals who have autism spectrum disorders and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges and their families. Experience in the school and clinical setting Demonstrated desire and ability to work effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Working knowledge of strategies and accommodations to support students in inclusion settings. Ability to collaborate positively with general education and special education staff, parents and administrators. Experience in writing Individual Education Programs (IEP), including working knowledge of social and behavioral language goals (FBA and BIP), specific task analysis skills, and ability to write measurable annual goals and objectives. Ability to participate as an effective member of the IEP team. Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel between buildings.
