CAD CAM OPERATOR Schedule: This is a Monday-Friday 1st shift schedule The CAD / CAM Operator is responsible for creating drawings and assemblies for new and existing components and products using computer-aided drafting (CAD) tools such as SolidWorks and Pro-Engineer, relating to machining and manufacturing processes. The job requires the creation of shop drawings, the management of drawings, and updating. Sign-on bonus up to $2500!ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded from time to time to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary. Comply with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures, and housekeeping standards. Support the company's manufacturing team by creating manufacturing prints, process drawings, inspection drawings, charts, gages, fixtures, etc. Using CAD software, create new and modify existing 3D models Using CAM software, create new and modify existing programs to assist CNC operators in processing jobs Maintain drawing documentation and design files Assist with troubleshooting tool and die manufacturing issues Collaborate with machinists as well as plant management to improve product designs and manufacturing processes 3D modeling experience, 2+ years Autodesk Inventor drawing/detailing experience preferred CAM programming experience, 2+ years of Mastercam programming experience preferred Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and understanding of precision manufacturing Resolve mold / die performance issues Provide mold and tool expertise to design reviews and products QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Two-year associate degree in machine tool technology and a minimum of 5 years' experience as a CAD / CAM operator or experience as a toolmaker in a wax or plastics injection mold manufacturing environment. Knowledge and ability to design tools using AutoCAD. Must possess good computer skills and be able to learn new skills as needed.
