This position is full-time with day shifts and on-call responsibilities shared equitably based on a team of providers. The role includes the ability to occasionally work weekends. Opening is due to the growth and expansion of services. Work with a high-caliber, collegial team. You will work closely with surgeons to provide patient care. Responsibilities include surgical assisting, emergency department consults, floor rounding, and patient education. You will order tests, review labs, prescribe medications, and develop progress and discharge notes. Custom orientation will be adapted to your skills. You will perform comprehensive and problem-focused history and physical exams. Interpret and correlate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Formulate differential diagnoses and establish working diagnoses. Develop treatment plans for orthopedic problems within the scope of practice. Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions when appropriate. Exercise judgment on issues requiring consultation or referral to supervising orthopedic surgeon or other professionals. Order or perform appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures, including blood tests and imaging studies. Perform procedures such as regional anesthesia and minor outpatient surgical procedures. Conduct joint and bursa aspirations and injections. Assist in surgery, including first assist roles and tissue closure. Conduct hospital rounds and write orders to assist the orthopedic surgeon. Serve as primary orthopedic call for patients in emergency and inpatient settings. Evaluate and clarify clinical conditions and implement treatment or therapeutic plans. Document patient histories and care plans. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and quality assurance initiatives. Utilize electronic medical record systems for order entry and documentation. Maintain excellent interpersonal skills and effectively communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Demonstrate initiative, motivation, and excellent customer service orientation. Flexible and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities concurrently. Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Physical agility and adequate reaction time are essential for unexpected patient care needs. Periodic use of a personal computer may be required.
