POSITION: Extended School Year (ESY) Nurse for Summer 2026 ESY nurse positions are available to work in-person with students to provide first aid services to students and school personnel in accordance with district guidelines; administers medications and treatments to students in accordance with the prescription of the student's physician and the direction of the district; assists in the execution of the mandated program; and maintain effective communication with parents and administration regarding an injured or ill student during the ESY program. NOTE: Nursing staff require an appropriate PA nursing /PDE nursing certificate. PAY RATE: NPSD Certified School Nurse = $52/hr. NPSD Staff Nurse = Current Hourly Rate; Others = $31.20/hr.What are Extended School Year (ESY) services? ESY services are special education and related services that are provided to students with disabilities beyond the 180-day school year. In some cases, interruptions in the school schedule, such as summer break, may result in some students with disabilities regressing on specific skills and taking a much longer time to regain those skills than their peers without disabilities once school is back in session. ESY services are provided during breaks in the educational schedule to prevent this. ESY Schedule for Summer 2026: ESY is Monday - Thursday on the following dates and times: 6/29/26 - 7/30/26 - FRIDAYS CLOSED 6/29/26 - 7/23/26 - FRIDAYS CLOSED 5-week programs will be full day, 4 week program will be half day Location and Hours: Elementary (Gr. K-6) - Location: Gwynedd Square Elementary School Elementary Staff Hours - 5 Week - 9:00 am - 3:00 pm 4 Week - 9:00 am - 1:00 pm Elementary Student Hours - 5 Week - 9:30 am - 2:30 pm 4 Week - 9:30 am - 12:30 pm Secondary (Gr. 7 - Post 12) - Location: North Penn School District Secondary Staff Hours - 5 Week - 7:30 am - 1:30 pm 4 Week - 7:30 am - 11:30 am Student Hours - 5 Week - 8:00 am - 1:00 pm 4 Week - 8:00 am - 11:00 am Lunch (30 min) and two (2) 15 min. breaks will be scheduled within the hours outlined above if working full-time Staff Prep Days: June 24 and June 25 Plus 7 Hours for Clean-up and Progress Monitoring outside of the ESY day for teaching staff only ADA Compliance: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions of this position. Incumbent should be able to exert up to 10 lbs of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects. Light work: If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the individual sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. The incumbent should be able to exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Medium work: The incumbent should be able to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects. Heavy work: The incumbent should be able to exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects. Very heavy work: The incumbent should be able to exert in excess of 100 lbs of force occasionally, and in excess of 50 lbs of force frequently, and in excess of 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
