Their fleet of autonomous unmanned ground vehicles operates across embedded, GPU-accelerated edge systems and cloud-connected infrastructure.As the company scales, reliable and secure software deployment across heterogeneous embedded processors is mission-critical. This role sits at the center of ensuring hardware-software integration is seamless-from initial board bring-up through production fleet updates in the field. What You Will Do As a Software Deployment Engineer, you will own the deployment, reliability, and security of software running across embedded edge devices and supporting cloud systems. This is a hands-on role focused on CI/CD, provisioning, and secure containerized workflows for robotics systems.You will: Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting embedded and edge deployments. Build reproducible, secure, and scalable fleet provisioning infrastructure. Develop containerized deployment workflows optimized for resource-constrained edge environments. Support board bring-up and system configuration on NVIDIA Jetson platforms. Customize BSP and JetPack/L4T environments for production systems. Implement secure deployment practices including secure boot, root of trust, and supply chain protections. Collaborate with embedded, autonomy, and systems teams to ensure reliable hardware-software integration. Maintain rigorous documentation and idempotent deployment processes. Ensure systems can operate in constrained or intermittently connected environments. This role requires building scalable processes from scratch in a fast-moving startup where execution, precision, and security are critical.Ideal Background The ideal candidate is a deployment-focused engineer with deep Linux and embedded systems experience who thrives in robotics or edge environments. 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or embedded systems deployment roles. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Deep expertise in Linux internals and system-level configuration. Hands-on experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms (board bring-up, BSP customization, JetPack/L4T). Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.). Experience with configuration management tools (preferably Ansible). Strong containerization experience (Docker) in resource-constrained environments. Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting. Strong understanding of embedded cybersecurity principles (secure boot, kernel hardening, root of trust, supply chain security). Commitment to documentation, reproducibility, and automation best practices. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance. Ability to work onsite in Phoenix, AZ. 4. Preferred Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing. Experience with declarative configuration management (e.g., Nix/NixOS). Experience with bootloaders such as U-Boot and secure boot implementations. Experience with Kubernetes in edge or hybrid environments. Experience deploying systems in air-gapped or intermittently connected environments. Familiarity with ROS or robotics software stacks. Experience with GPU programming environments (CUDA, TensorRT). Experience with SBOM practices and supply chain risk management. 5. Compensation and Benefits Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience. Work Model: Full-time, onsite in Phoenix, AZ. Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance. Impact: Direct ownership of deployment and security practices for autonomous systems operating in defense environments.
