Position Start Date 8/17/2026 Salary/Wage Salary to Commensurate with Experience Terms/Schedule 1.0FTE 190 contract days a year Appointment Type Full Time Description Position Summary: The goals of this position are: To support teachers in their collaborative work toward meeting the needs of all students, specifically our most marginalized students. To help students achieve the fullest benefit from programs, services and offerings of the school. To work as a building leader to provide coaching and collaboration with teachers and teacher teams around engagement, instruction and professional learning communities. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience (level-specific preferred) Current Wisconsin teaching license; 316 Reading Teacher License required, 317 Reading Specialist preferred Coaching, mentoring and/or other teacher leadership experience Experience planning and implementing literacy instruction for multilingual learners Bilingual - Spanish/English Preferred. Essential Functions: Support the mission, vision and collective commitments of Sauk Trail Elementary School. Shares with principal the responsibility for protecting the health, safety and welfare of students. Provides individualized, classroom-based coaching with staff members to support them in implementing differentiated instruction that meets the needs of all students in an inclusive, equitable environment. Works directly with the principal, coach and leadership team to build the skills and capacities of all staff to function as strong professional learning communities (C3 teams) that build off of educational standards and our Sauk Trail Elementary School students in order to design individualized and differentiated instruction that engages all learners. Co-plans and co-leads the building Resource/Intervention team. Works with staff and building leaders to continue to grow our culture of equitable philosophies and practices that works to repay the educational debt owed to our most marginalized students. When necessary, provides individual and small group instruction, in collaboration with classroom teachers, for students who may benefit from additional time and support in order to grow specific skills. Provide progress monitoring for identified students receiving Tier 2 or Tier 3 interventions. Support teachers in using state, building and classroom based assessments and progress monitoring in order to adjust instruction to meet the needs of all students. Engage in regular review of building data in order to engage in continuous cycles of improvement at the building level, grade level and classroom levels. Support Sauk Trail staff and students with district assessments and FORWARD Exam (test taking skills, proctor full group, small group and individual students, review data). Represent Sauk Trail Elementary School on the Interventionist Team. Provide building level updates and professional development. Participate in caregiver engagement leadership team and activities in order to continue to cultivate and grow our caregiver and community connections and partnerships. Performs other duties as assigned by administration. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Deep knowledge of and experience in: Culturally and Linguistically Responsive instructional & lesson design practices Experience in developing early numeracy and foundational literacy skills Standards-based design for learning Lesson/Unit planning using backwards design and effective assessment development Professional development for adult educators Blended learning and/or other forms of personalized learning Wisconsin Educator Effectiveness model, setting and achieving instructional goals Ability to communicate in a professional and collaborative manner using oral, written, and listening skills Strong organizational skills and efficiency in meeting deadlines Ability to function as a collaborative member of a team Demonstrated interest and engagement in self-reflection and professional learning Working Conditions: This job is performed primarily indoors, with the occasional need to attend meetings outside the building and/or in other district schools. Physical / Mental Requirements: This is a physically light job which involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. This job involves sitting, with a need to move about for significant periods of time. Reaching, handling objects and papers and fine manipulation are all performed frequently. Verbal and auditory communication are both frequently involved. Near acuity is frequently utilized.
