GIS Technician

Job Description The GIS Technician is responsible for providing excellent service to our customers, shareholders and employees by assisting with the creation and maintenance of the Company distribution mapping and GIS data. The GIS Technician has primary responsibilities in the following areas: Maintaining, updating and checking distribution mapping GIS data and related details. Input of data collected from engineering staff, superintendents and field service representatives of as-built infrastructure projects. Assist in response to requests for information pertaining to GIS distribution mapping and facilities. Successfully creates and manages GIS data of Company water distribution systems. Inputs data associated with submitted as-built projects for updating Company distribution systems mapping. Adds and populates new attributes in Geodatabase. Field locates system assets using GPS equipment. Performs special projects as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Certificate or Bachelor's Degree in Geography / GIS typically required.
