Description Assess patients across diverse age groups, utilizing both standardized evaluation methods and observational techniques. Craft customized therapy plans targeting immediate and long-term communication or swallowing goals. Deliver individualized speech therapy aimed at enhancing communication, language comprehension, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities. Collaborate seamlessly with an interdisciplinary team comprising occupational and physical therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to devise cohesive care plans. Provide education to patients and families to bolster progress beyond therapy sessions. Conduct speech therapy assessments and interventions during occasional inpatient care, ensuring comprehensive patient support throughout the healing process. Document patient progress and treatment plans thoughtfully and in accordance with legal and organizational standards. Keep abreast of cutting-edge practices in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those yet to receive ASHA certification. Certifications Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Skills Expertise in evidence-based methodologies applicable to all age groups, combined with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
