About the job Nurse Practitioner - Wound Care (P/T) Wound Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP or PA) Location: Xenia, OH (Greater Dayton Area) | Facility-Based Employment Type: Part-Time or Full-Time | Flexible Schedule | Direct Hire About the Opportunity A rapidly expanding wound care organization is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its clinical team in Xenia, Ohio. This is a facility-based role, providing wound care services across skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation centersalways rounding with a dedicated wound care nurse, DON, or ADON. Youll never be asked to function as a solo practitioner. This role offers extraordinary flexibility, clinical autonomy, and a personalized compensation structure designed around complexity, performance, and preference. The team is led by a DNP wound care subject matter expert and former founder of one of Ohios top-performing wound care companies. Youll receive hands-on support, shared decision-making, and access to additional learning and leadership opportunities. What Youll Do Provide advanced wound care (debridement, dressing changes, infection management, etc.) in skilled nursing and rehab settings Collaborate daily with a wound care nurse, ADON, or DON to round and coordinate care Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic wounds Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Educate patients, caregivers, and facility staff on wound care best practices Maintain complete and accurate documentation of visits and progress Participate in quality improvement initiatives and mentorship with senior leadership Qualifications NP or PA licensed to practice in Ohio (unrestricted) National certification (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA) 2+ years of APP experience in wound care, geriatrics, primary care, or long-term care Wound care certification (WOCNB or ABWM) preferredbut the organization will cover the cost for certification Must have valid DEA, CPR/BLS certification, and willingness to work independently with ongoing support Excellent communication, documentation, and patient engagement skills Hospital-only experience is not a fit for this position Why This Role Stands Out Highly flexible structure open to part-time or full-time Personalized compensation based on case complexity and volume Autonomy + support round with a dedicated team and collaborate with clinical leadership All clinical expenses covered: CME, licensure, credentialing, and liability Healthcare benefits: 50/50 split on medical + retirement plan Work-life balance most providers work fewer than 40 hours per week Career growth potential to expand into leadership or regional oversight roles Mission-driven team founded by one of Ohios leading wound care experts Estimated Compensation Base Pay: $60,000$125,000 depending on part-time vs. full-time and case complexity Bonus: Additional RVU-based or complexity-based earnings Benefits: Full benefits for full-time; pro-rated for part-time
