Classified - Position - Bus Driver Job Number 4600163122 Start Date Open Date 02/19/2025 Closing Date REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation NATURE OF WORK: Drive a school bus that provides safe, on time transportation for students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Operates vans, minibuses, and full-sized school buses in providing transportation for students to school and home. Observes all safety rules and exercises good judgment in the operation of the vehicles. Assure that all vehicles are in a safe operating condition through specified checks and procedures. Maintains discipline on the buses. Assures that the bus is always orderly, thus assuring student safety and comfort. Cleans buses daily and assures that all safety devices are in place and in good condition. Contacts parents as required to apprise them of conditions on the bus and conduct of their children. This will be done to insure continued good order and discipline. Serves as liaison between students and school administration. Reports to the administrator any conditions that would jeopardize safety of transportation. QUALIFICATIONS:Must be able to pass a State Education Department prescribed physical examination. Must possess a commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement.
