Quality Automation Engineer

Charlotte, NC 6 month contract to hire Quality Automation Engineer QUALITY ENGINEER Role Overview Quality Engineers collaborate closely with software engineers and product managers to ensure IRALOGIX delivers high-quality software. We achieve this through comprehensive testing strategies, automation frameworks, and providing the right feedback as early as possible in the process. Core Responsibilities Automation: Design and implement test automation frameworks that support multiple testing levels and integrate with CI/CD pipelines (shifting left) Review requirements and technical design documents to provide feedback Exploratory: Create detailed, comprehensive test plans and test cases based on requirements, design, and code changes Execute test cases, and record results including manual/exploratory, application level, and end to end Identify, record, document, and track bugs through resolution - ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly Define and track quality metrics to provide visibility into test coverage, defect rates, and system health Collaborate with development and Platform teams to ensure testable code design and reliable deployment processes Maintain and evolve test suites to keep pace with application changes while reducing technical debt Testing: Ownership - Planning, prioritizing, organizing, and executing Tools: Expert Java, Selenium, TestNG, cypress/playrwight Automation: Defining test framework architecture, test framework ownership Technical: Code reviews, big picture IRALOGIX functionality Methodologies: Quality metrics, test optimization, shift-left testing
