This document is not all inclusive.3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES:3.1 Transport goods and freight from one location to another using a truck or tractor-trailer.3.2 Complete a pre/post trip inspection on tractor and trailer before and after each trip to ensure safety and functionality.3.3 Inspect load to ensure cargo is properly loaded and secured3.4 If load is not properly secured notify dispatch and if necessary use straps/load locks for securement3.5 Review BOL for accuracy3.6 Plan the route, fueling location, safe haven, breaks, and deliveries to meet customer requirements and deadlines.3.7 Complete electronic DVIR via ELD for any deficiencies identified during pre/post trip3.8 Contact maintenance team and Penske repair hotline when repairs/inspections/certifications are needed for tractor or trailer.3.9 Schedule preventative maintenance and repairs with local Lease provider (Penske/Ryder)3.10 Contact safety and dispatch immediately after a safety incident (follow Company Accident/Incident process)3.11 Complete monthly Near Miss documentation3.12 On-Time pick-up and Delivery from consignee3.13 Utilize onboard TMS system for dispatch and communication purposes3.14 Comply with all traffic laws and FMCSR regulations, including hours of service restrictions.3.15 Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other transportation personnel.3.16 Monitor weather and road conditions to adjust driving accordingly.3.17 Manage cargo securement and load distribution to prevent damage or accidents.3.18 Complete and submit daily trip sheet3.19 Submit weekly any necessary documentation to include but not limited to daily trip sheet, lumper receipts, fuel receipts, etc.3.20 Communicate professionally with dispatchers, safety department, Company Leadership/associates, other motorists, shippers, receivers, law enforcement personnel, and DOT officers, etc.3.21 Pull the 5th wheel release, tandem axle releases and open/close trailer doors in all types of weather conditions.3.22 Adjust trailer pin height by turning the metal crank mounted on the trailer in order to move the landing gear upward and downward to position the trailer properly for hooking or disconnecting the tractor to the trailer.3.23 Sit for long periods of time up to, but not to exceed hours of service3.24 Ability to adapt quickly according to the road conditions, environment, traffic patterns, weather conditions, and the demands of the job.3.25 Work weekends as needed.3.26 Any additional duties as assigned by leadership3.27 Load and unload trailers (hand/fork truck/pallet jack)3.28 Pick/Pack materials for shipping3.29 Upon certification at each Company location, safely utilize powered equipment (reach truck/fork truck/pallet jack.etc) per facility rules and regulations3.30 Utilize company WMS to manage inventory and trailer loading/unloading.3.32 Maintain accurate inventory counts3.33 Perform cycle counts and physical inventories3.34 Assist in breaking down empty gaylords/maintain baler3.35 Assist other drivers/material handlers as assigned by leadership3.36 Do not use power equipment in a facility until certified at that specific location3.37 Shuttle equipment to and from repair location Example (Penske/Ryder/Outside Vendor)3.38 Open doors utilizing Trailer door strap (peekaboo strap)3.39 Chain of tires due to inclement weather (State regulations)3.40 Maintain vehicle cleanliness process per Maintenance processes3.41 Complete yard checks as requested by leadership4.0 OTHER DUTIES, AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:4.1 Responsible for maintaining a safe and friendly work environment4.2 Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned.4.3 Assists in maintaining silos and cleaning.4.4 Report damages and unsafe conditions.4.5 Assist other Material Handlers as needed or directed by Warehouse Manager.4.6 Be actively engaged in safety and quality programs4.7 Identify and report safety concerns4.8 Responsible for the safety of yourself, your co-workers, and environment.4.9 Maintain a current non-expired Class A CDL/Valid DOT Medical Cert.4.10 Attend all operational/safety meetings as requested by leadership.5.0 QUALIFICATIONS:5.1 Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers.5.2 Moderate organizational skills including the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.5.3 Ability to read Standard English text for requirements on pack list.5.4 Communicate with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.5.5 Perform effectively in environments with frequent workload changes and competing demands.5.6 Able to use simple math to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to determine material calculations.5.7 Make appropriate job decisions following standard policies and past precedents.5.8 Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and or paging system to contact other coworkers in other areas of the complex.5.9 Recognize an emergency situation and take appropriate action.5.10 Ability to stand and walk for minimum of 7 hours during an 8 hour shift.5.11 Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms, and horns on fork-lifts.5.12 Proficient skill in JDE5.13 Able to frequently lift, push, and pull loads of no more than 35 lbs. without the use of an assisting device.5.14 Ability to safely operate a fork-lift in high traffic, low clearance areas while not posing a safety risk to others.5.15 Able to climb ladders and steps safely without assistance. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.5.16 Possess a valid Class A CDL5.17 Required 1 year of verifiable comparable driving experience within the last 3 years to include pulling 53ft trailers5.18 Meet the physical qualifications and examination under 391.41 DOT reg.5.19 Ability to use TMS/WMS/ELD systems.Our ExpectationsWe expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
