Job Description

Join a dedicated healthcare team as an LPN Unit Secretary, providing essential administrative and clinical support in a busy inpatient and outpatient setting within the Southern Gulf Coast region. This role involves managing communications, coordinating patient information, and assisting nursing staff to ensure smooth daily operations. Key Responsibilities Professionally answer and route telephone calls, taking accurate messages as needed. Greet and direct visitors with warmth and professionalism. Support caregivers including CNAs, RNs, LPNs, physicians, and department leadership. Retrieve and ensure timely review of diagnostic results by nursing staff. Initiate and manage patient charts for admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring proper documentation. Enter patient data such as admission details and physician orders into the hospital computer system. Maintain a clean, organized nurse's station and supply room, ensuring all materials are well-stocked and orderly. Assist with staffing coordination under the guidance of the Director or RN, posting patient care assignments each shift. Update bulletin boards and binders with schedules, memos, and educational materials. Recognize patient care alarms promptly and notify appropriate personnel. Respond quickly to patient requests and ensure call lights and telemetry monitoring are continuously attended. Manage inventory and ordering of medical and clerical supplies as well as patient nourishment. Create a welcoming environment for patients and verify additional information as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and values of the organization. Education & Certifications Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred. Experience & Requirements Previous experience in a healthcare administrative or clinical support role is beneficial. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential.
