Description Design and develop detailed site plans for substations, including grading, drainage, and stormwater management systems. Perform calculations for cut-and-fill, stormwater runoff, and soil stability to support site preparation. Prepare erosion control and support the generation of stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) in compliance with local and federal regulations. Design and develop detailed gravel access road design for substation access. Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce site grading designs and drawings. Coordinate with structural, electrical, and environmental teams to align site designs with project requirements. Support geotechnical investigations and surveys to ensure project design requirements are captured. Prepare technical reports, construction specifications, and material takeoffs. Coordinate with construction and project management to ensure successful project execution. Manage project schedules and budgets, maintaining a focus on timely and cost-effective delivery. Supports new project proposals including scope definition, project labor estimates, and project pricing. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program and 3 years of civil engineering experience required. Consulting preferred. Or Bachelor's Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 3 years of civil engineering experience required. Consulting preferred. Or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years of civil engineering experience required. Consulting preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and familiarity with grading tools and methods. Knowledge of stormwater management and erosion control best practices. Strong knowledge of standard civil engineering techniques and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment, and demonstrated critical thinking skills. Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills. Preferred: 4 years of experience in civil-site design, grading, or related engineering disciplines, preferably in the power transmission industry. Experience with utility or power industry standards and practices. Project management. Experience with full life-cycle EPC project delivery. Experience preparing permits for regulatory agencies. Engineers in Training-EIT Certification Preferred Field experience.
