Mental / Behavioral Health Technician - Adults & PediatricsFull-Time | Part-Time | PRN Make a meaningful impact every day by supporting individuals with mental health disorders and developmental disabilities. As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you will provide hands-on care, therapeutic support, and crisis intervention under the supervision of licensed clinicians in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Position Overview The Behavioral Health Technician supports patients by assisting with daily living activities and implementing therapeutic interventions designed to promote safety, independence, and emotional well-being. This role is both physically and emotionally demanding and best suited for resilient, compassionate individuals committed to patient-centered care. Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care Assist with hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management Monitor, observe, and document patient behavior and overall well-being Behavioral & Therapeutic Support Implement individualized treatment plans Support patients in developing coping and life skills Crisis Intervention & Safety Respond to behavioral crises and de-escalate situations Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate, confidential documentation Adhere to HIPAA, safety protocols, and organizational policies Collaboration & Education Work closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams Participate in treatment planning and team meetings Educate patients and families; assist with group therapy and workshops QualificationsEducation High school diploma required Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred Experience Prior behavioral or mental health experience preferred Certifications CPR/First Aid required CBHT or similar certifications are a plus Skills & Competencies Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills Crisis intervention abilities and emotional resilience Mindfulness, empathy, self-regulation, social awareness, and emotional agility Physical & Training Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and crawl Regularly lift up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 75 lbs Remain vigilant, attentive, and wakeful throughout all shifts Successfully complete at least three consecutive days of safety hold training Patients may present unsafe behaviors, limited coping skills, and limited ability to perform activities of daily living Working Conditions Clinical, residential, or community-based settings Exposure to challenging behaviors Flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays Pay & Differentials Starting pay: $17.00/hour Earning potential up to $25.50/hour based on education, experience, and shift Shift Differentials Weekday evenings: +$3.00/hour Overnight shifts: +$2.00/hour Weekend shifts (Friday 7:00pm - Monday 7:00am): +$2.00/hour Available Shifts Day Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm Weekday Evening: 3:00pm - 11:30pm If you're passionate about mental and behavioral health and ready to make a difference in the lives of others, this role offers purpose, growth, and competitive earning potential.
