The schedule consists of patient contact hours that are variable, primarily Monday through Thursday. There will be a total of 16 shifts per month, with an eight-hour shift length. On-call duties may include one week and one weekend per month, handling phone calls only. Inpatient responsibilities are present, but visits to the hospital for consultations are infrequent. Hospitalists will admit all patients, and the physician will field phone calls from hospitalists. No outreach or telehealth services are expected for this position. The job responsibilities include conducting consultations, delivering follow-up care, and overseeing the administration of antineoplastics in the clinic. You will work with two advanced practice providers, although supervision of them is not expected. The nursing support ratio will be two nurses for each physician, along with referral and triage nurses. Ancillary staff will include receptionists, laboratory technicians, social workers, referral coordinators, and dietitians. Services offered include antineoplastics, phlebotomies, IV IgG, iron therapy, and bone marrow biopsies. The clinic has four exam rooms, medical imaging available, and a pharmacy on-site. The average daily clinic volume is expected to be 16-20 patients. The daily hospital practice census is anticipated to be 0-2 patients.
