Description Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using both standardized tests and observational analyses. Create individualized treatment strategies that cater to immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing challenges. Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions focused on enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and eating/swallowing functions. Work in conjunction with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to design comprehensive care approaches. Provide educational resources for patients and families to promote progress during and outside of therapy sessions. Occasionally assist in inpatient speech therapy assessments and treatments, ensuring uninterrupted patient care. Maintain precise and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards. Pursue ongoing professional development and stay abreast of advancements in the field. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) to attain ASHA certification if you are not yet certified. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of starting. Skills Expertise in evidence-based techniques applicable across all age groups, with a robust comprehension of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing impairments. Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to adjust therapeutic approaches to meet various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Sound clinical judgement coupled with strong problem-solving skills.
