Onsite Job - Test Technician | Austin, Texas, United States Onsite Test Technician - Austin, TX | $26.72/hr | Temp-to-Hire About the Role Join a dynamic, high-tech manufacturing environment as an Onsite Test Technician in Austin, TX. This is a 6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity with a competitive hourly pay rate and strong potential for long-term career advancement. You'll play a vital part in delivering quality electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical systems. Responsibilities - Perform testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of equipment, components, and devices - Construct, adjust, and repair electronic assemblies per schematics and engineering drawings - Conduct precise measurements and operate test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generators) - Document and report test results in prescribed formats - Collaborate with production, engineering, and technical teams to resolve issues and improve processes - Carry out calibration and alignment checks, modifications, and replacements as directed - Maintain compliance by obtaining necessary certifications (ESD, Material Handling, Soldering) - Prepare and handle prescribed compounds and solutions as required - Perform additional production test functions as assigned during manufacturing phases Required Skills and Experience - High School or Trade School diploma (or equivalent) - 1-2 years' advanced study or hands-on experience in electronic technology - Proficient with basic electronics troubleshooting and repair - Familiarity with microscopes, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and related hand tools - Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical data, schematics, blueprints, and specifications - Computer literacy and excellent task focus Preferred Skills - 4+ years' related experience in electronics assembly or testing - Experience in troubleshooting down to the circuit component level - Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams - Skilled in mechanical assembly and crimping tool usage - Electronics Engineering Technology or related computer field education Benefits - Opportunity to convert to a permanent role after contract period - Overtime available, boosting earning potential - Hands-on experience with advanced technology - Professional development: company-sponsored certification opportunities - Collaborative, safety-focused workplace How to Apply Ready to launch your career in electronics testing?
