Job Title: Production Mechanic or Maintenance Mechanic Location: Newark, DE Duration: 12 Months Interviews: 15-minute Teams interview 45-minute onsite interview 1 Candidate for 1st shift 5x8 Monday - Friday (06:50am - 3:20pm) 1 Candidate for 2nd shift 5x8 Monday - Friday (02:50pm - 11:20pm) 1 Candidate for 3rd shift 3x8 Monday - Friday (10:50pm - 7:20am) Maintenance mechanic supporting packaging lines. Responsibilities include fabricating parts, performing inspections, executing preventive maintenance routines, completing line changeovers, and basic troubleshooting of packaging equipment. Has a solid understanding of machinery safety, electrical safety, and Lockout/Tagout procedures. Desired experience includes working with fabrication equipment such as lathes, mills, and bandsaws, as well as hands-on knowledge of packaging lines as a mechanic or operator in pharmaceutical, food, beverage, cosmetics, or similar production environments. Mechanic certification or relevant experience is preferred. NOTES: • Educational Background: Prefers to candidates with a trade or technical education (mechanic, electrician, automation, controls, etc.), but a formal degree isn't necessary. Completing or pursuing technical coursework is a plus, but candidates don't need a bachelor's degree. • Relevant Experience: Candidates should have at least one year of hands-on experience-ideally in pharmaceuticals, chemical industry, food, or consumer sectors, especially if they have worked on packaging lines. Experience as an operator with some exposure to maintenance is acceptable. Three years of experience is preferred for stronger candidates, but the manager is open to less experience if the market is competitive. Skills to Look For: • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on ability to assemble, disassemble, and troubleshoot machinery, especially small packaging lines (not heavy industrial equipment). • Troubleshooting ability-not just setting up lines but also resolving issues as they arise. Electrician/automation skills are a strong differentiator and will boost a candidate's profile but aren't mandatory. Overqualified candidates (automation technician or someone in an engineering career) may not be a fit.
