Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Outpatient Surgery Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/03/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Local Contract Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Surgery (PreOp / PACU) Santa Rosa, CA Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days – 5x8s (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM) Occasional shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Position Overview Join a well-structured Outpatient Surgery PreOp & PACU team providing same-day surgical care. This role supports Phase I and Phase II recovery, with all patients discharging home. Ideal for RNs seeking a Monday–Friday schedule with no call and strong work-life balance. Unit Details Outpatient PreOp / PACU (Phase I & II) 4 procedure rooms Average Daily Census: 10 Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics Float required to Main PACU if needed First-time travelers welcome Surgical Specialties Supported General Surgery Orthopedics Urology ENT Ophthalmology Gynecology Plastics Podiatry Vascular Endoscopic/Laparoscopic procedures Key Responsibilities Pre-op assessments & patient education Review History & Physical Administer pre-op medications Monitor procedural sedation PACU Phase I & II recovery Pain management & RASS scoring Manage hyperglycemia/hypoglycemia & insulin protocols Obtain 12-lead EKGs Medication reconciliation Provide discharge instructions & follow-up calls Follow malignant hyperthermia protocols Interpret & communicate lab values Required Qualifications ✔ Active California RN license (pending accepted) ✔ Minimum 1 year RN experience ✔ BLS ✔ ACLS ✔ PALS ✔ Outpatient or PACU experience About Hanker Systems Inc Healthcare staffing at Hanker Systems Inc is focused on delivering the right talent to support quality patient care.
