Job Description We are seeking a Controls Engineer to support plant-wide automation, instrumentation, and control systems. This role is critical to ongoing capital projects, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-volume manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Program, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI control systems Support plant-wide automation, instrumentation, and software initiatives Design and implement control system upgrades and integrations Troubleshoot manufacturing and utility systems (steam, water, air) Support capital projects from concept through commissioning Read and interpret electrical and control schematics Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, production, and leadership teams Interface with vendors, contractors, and system integrators Document systems, changes, and technical standards Train plant personnel on new and upgraded automation systems Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and food safety standards Qualifications High School Diploma required; Technical Degree or Bachelor's preferred Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting PLC-based systems Strong experience with Allen-Bradley control platforms Ability to troubleshoot automation and operational issues Excellent communication, documentation, and follow-through Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (stairs, ladders, confined spaces, lifting up to 50 lbs.)
