Description Job Title: IT Network Administrator Location: Kentwood Office Reports To: IT Director Position Type: Full-Time | Salary Accepting applications through March 11, 2026 Wellspring Lutheran Services is a statewide nonprofit serving seniors, families, and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking an IT Network Administrator to be positioned in-person Kentwood, MI and support our teams across the state. In this role, you’ll be part of a dedicated group ensuring staff have the technology support they need to carry out their work. Responsibilities Experience with standard operating systems, software packages, and software utilities. Working knowledge of proper records maintenance and storage for local and distributed environments. In-depth understanding of computer operating systems, applications, and data flow dependencies between applications. PowerShell/scripting and automation experience. Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and serve as escalation point. Ability to establish effective professional business relationships with all levels of management. Network Architecture & Operations Architect, implement, and maintain secure and resilient LAN/WAN/WLAN, VPN/SD-WAN, and firewall infrastructures. Design, configure, and optimize network performance, segmentation, and quality of service (QoS). Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and remediation of complex network issues. Manage and maintain network and remote connectivity hardware/software, including switches, routers, and wireless systems. Oversee and document network topology, configurations, and change management processes. Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies, hardware, and software to enhance infrastructure capabilities. Cloud & Security Integration Integrate and manage Azure networking, VPN gateways, and cloud connectivity solutions. Collaborate with the IT Security Administrator to ensure HIPAA compliance, enforce least-privilege access, and maintain secure network segmentation. Manage firewalls, EDR, SIEM integrations, and network logging/alerting systems. Perform and document regular backup, restore, and disaster recovery testing for network systems, defining RPO/RTO objectives. Systems & Infrastructure Administration Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual network servers, appliances, and SANs. Develop, maintain, and implement network support and archiving procedures. Maintain accurate documentation of network infrastructure, configurations, and operational procedures. Oversee system performance, monitor utilization trends, and implement capacity planning. Telecommunications & Collaboration Systems Plan, design, and support telecommunications systems including VoIP/Teams Phone, SIP trunks, and call flows. Manage installation and maintenance of telecom equipment, voicemail, and related features. Oversee videoconferencing and surveillance network systems with Facilities and Security teams. Troubleshoot and resolve telecommunications and video conferencing issues; coordinate vendor support as needed. Leadership & Team Development Foster collaboration, professional growth, and cross-departmental communication. Provide technical mentorship and serve as Tier-3 escalation point for complex infrastructure issues. Develop and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and infrastructure documentation to ensure operational consistency. Planning, Reporting & Vendor Management Collaborate with IT Director to define goals, report on network performance, and drive continuous improvement. Assist in budgeting, procurement, and coordination of network, telecom, and data-related vendor services. Evaluate and recommend new products, services, and technologies aligned with organizational strategy. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience. Certifications: CCNP, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft (Entra/M365), Cisco, SonicWall. Experience in regulated healthcare or compliance-driven environments. Five or more years of information technology experience. Experience managing LAN/WAN, system configuration, setup, troubleshooting, planning, design, implementation, and user support. Experience installing and supporting Microsoft server technologies, client VPN, and remote user support software. Experience supporting telecommunications equipment, LAN/WAN, internet, email, videoconferencing, and data communications. Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented.
