Ensure medical records are accurate within the practice management systemEducate animal ownersLiaising with veterinarians and veterinary assistants to ensure continuity of patient careFollow all safety protocols to ensure safety of pets, clients, and team membersAdministering medications and treatments prescribed by a veterinarianObtains and verifies medicationsPerforming phlebotomy duties, and providing intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SQ) injectionsRestrain pets in a manner that allows necessary work to be performed, minimizes stress to pets, and ensures the safety of pets and peopleAssist at front desk/kiosk and greet clients/patients upon entryAnswer phones and make appointments as neededPerforming laboratory work and diagnostic imagingAdministering first aid for emergenciesKnowledge with the RECOVER guidelinesInduce/monitor and recover anesthetic patientsComplete regional anesthesia when neededMaintains safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, maintaining equipment and complying with legal regulationsRequirements Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure in WashingtonYou are willing to go with the flow to help a growing company succeed in both conventional and novel ways.While the salary for a specific position will fall within this range, there are a number of factors also taken into consideration.
