Quality Control Inspector Essential Functions Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith Vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal Inspect incoming rental machines to determine the extent of repairs that are needed Inspect machines after repairs are made to ensure a quality repair has been completed Inspect incoming rental machines for needed repairs and damages. Fills out inspection forms and takes photographs as needed Inform Product Service Managers (PSM) of work needed on incoming rental machines Inspect damages and determine the cause Start quote process with parts required; ; ensures all labor quotes provided by PSM to Rentals in 24 hours and then the Rental quote to customer within 48 hours Confirms work needed matches existing quote. If there is no quote, make inspection and start quote process. QCI to quote parts only. All customer labor that is quoted will be provided by PSM Coordinate with the Rentals Coordinator and Yard Technician on equipment tags and location in the yard Assists and advises the Detail Technician on the cleanliness of rental and customer units when received and prior to shipment Check all units for repairs completed, cleanliness, and proper usage of rental-ready tags Follows all company safety policies and procedures Ensures consistent and reliable on-site attendance Performs other job-related duties as assigned Quality Control Inspector Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent Five (5) years experience as a heavy equipment technician Intermediate level skills in computer software including Excel, Word, E-mail, and Internet Ability to perform diagnostics (hydraulic and electrical) Experience and ability to perform tests on construction and mining equipment. Ability to speak, read and write in English Quality Control Inspector Physical Qualifications Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying up to 50 pounds without assistance Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold or wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odors associated with the shop Physical ability to perform maintenance on equipment for extended hours of time with continual mounting and dismounting throughout the workday Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition Please Note: This position is considered Safety Sensitive We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
