Job Title: Nurse Practitioner – Developmental Disability CenterSchedule: Part-time, 16–24 hours per week | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | No weekends or holidays Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide advanced nursing care to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role focuses on assessing, monitoring, and managing chronic and acute health conditions while promoting independence and quality of life for patients. The NP will also provide clinical oversight and guidance to nursing and support staff in a developmental disability care environment. Primary Responsibilities Patient Care & Advanced Nursing DutiesDevelop and implement individualized care plans tailored to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities.Monitor patients’ health status, intervene in chronic illness management, and evaluate acute/complex medical conditions.Perform routine physical exams, minor procedures, and prescribe or administer medications and treatments as appropriate.Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care for patients with chronic conditions, medical issues, or behavioral health needs.Order and review laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and imaging; make referrals as needed.Administer vaccines and inoculations to prevent communicable diseases.Medical Documentation & ComplianceMaintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant medical records, documenting assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up parameters.Collaborate with the facility’s Medical Director or equivalent for monthly quality oversight.Clinical Direction & Team LeadershipProvide guidance and support to RNs, LPNs, and other caregivers in the developmental disability care setting.Serve as a clinical resource for staff, patients, and families on health promotion, risk management, and care strategies.Professional & Committee ParticipationParticipate in facility-specific meetings and professional committees.Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives and educational opportunities related to developmental disability nursing care. Required Qualifications Licensure & Certification:Valid Ohio RN licenseCompletion of a Nurse Practitioner programCertification by the Ohio Board of Nursing for advanced practiceValid certificate of authority and certificate to prescribe (ORC 4723)Experience: Experience providing care in developmental disability, long-term care, or similar patient populations preferred.Skills & Knowledge:Advanced clinical assessment and nursing judgment.Knowledge of HIPAA, state/federal nursing regulations, and facility policies.Competency with medical/surgical equipment and electronic medical records.Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
